He wrote a book on real estate law that was widely considered to be the foremost authority on the topic. He also taught at Western New England College School of Law.Jim was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. He was an exceptional piano and organ player, having played the organ in church for many years. He also sang in a barbershop quartet. Jim was very well-traveled, he loved the performing arts, and was known for his razor-sharp wit and extraordinary generosity.Jim was the son of the late Richard J. and Helen E. (King) Dee. He was the 6th of 7 children and is survived by his sister, Carole Childers, of Aurora, CO, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Martha’s Church in Enfield, followed by interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Springfield.
