Gordon R. "Gordie"  Worthington
Gordon R. "Muscles" Worthington, 81, of Enfield, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at home with his devoted wife Jeanine by his side. The son of the late Harold and Doris (Adams) Worthington, Gordie was one of 17 children. He was born and raised in Somers where he lived for many years before moving to Enfield. Muscles was formerly employed by F. Edwin Smyth Inc. for 20 years and will be remembered for his artistry with a bulldozer and for his knowledge of the people and town of Somers. He had a strong work ethic and a giving nature, often going above and beyond to help a friend or someone in need. He is survived by his wife Jeanine (Arrowsmith) Worthington; his children, Penny Lemery, Bruce Worthington and his wife Marci, Brian Worthington and his wife Jennifer; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He also is survived by 5 of his 16 siblings, Kenny, Judy, Betty, Doris Ellen, and David. He was predeceased by his loving wife and mother of his children, Linda (Schneider) Worthington, and his son Roger Worthington, and 11 siblings. Visitation hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at Leete-Stevens followed by burial at Hazardville Cemetery.
