Obituary for Adele B. Moauro (Hamelin)

Adele B. (Hamelin) Moauro, 84, of Chicopee, entered into eternal rest, on Thursday, September 19, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Alberta, Canada on March 13, 1935, to the late Robert and Dorothy (Sicotte) Hamelin. Adele attended Precious Blood School and Holyoke High School. In 1955, she married the love of her life, Robert Moauro, and built their first home in Springfield, where they raised their children. They enjoyed spending time at their lake house in Stafford Springs, CT. She worked for Stafford Public Schools for 19 years in the cafeteria. Adele's greatest joy in life was spending time with her beloved family. Cooking and playing cards with her siblings was a weekly tradition. She will be deeply missed by her son Michael and his wife Gina of Hampden; her two cherished grandsons, Michael and his wife Christine, Matthew and his wife Tara; two great grandsons, Tyler and Mason; a sister, Estelle Sourdiffe; and two brothers, Richard and Philip Hamelin. She also leaves 15 nieces and nephews, 20 great nieces and nephews, and a cherished friend, Joyce Steimer. In addition to her husband, Adele was predeceased by a son, Daniel Moauro; a sister, Corinne Hebert; and a brother, Robert Hamelin. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a mass in memory of Adele on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 10:00 am at All Saints Church, 25 School St., Somersville, CT 06072. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Enfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
