Obituary

Alexius Desrosiers, 88, beloved husband to Jacqueline (Gregoire) Desrosiers, entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, October 27, 2019. He was born on July 17, 1931, in Boston, the loving son to the late Oliver and Agnes (Dupuis) Desrosiers. At 17, Alexius joined the United States Army and proudly served our country during the Korean War. Following his time in the service, Alexius began a career at Pratt and Whitney as an engineering aide, where he worked for 35 years. When his sons were young he served as a Scout Leader with their Boy Scout troops as well as a little league baseball umpire. In 1995, he and his wife became snowbirds, living in Florida during the wintertime, but became permanent residents in 2000. They returned back to Enfield, and closer to their family, in 2007. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and was an avid reader. In addition to his loving wife, Jacqueline, Alexius is survived by two sons, Alan Desrosiers and his wife, Lorna of Enfield and David Desrosiers and his wife, Linda of Somers; five grandchildren, Diane, Alexandra, Austin, Christopher, and DJ; and his great grandchildren, Spencer, Hayley, Kameron, Trenten, Tzipporah, Christopher, and Jonah. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Michelle. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for calling hours on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 5-8 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT 06082. A Mass will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield, CT 06082. Please meet at the church. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Alexius may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteenth Street NW, Washington, DC 20006.
