Obituary for Carole M. Kulesa

Carole Marie (Strapakas) Kulesa, affectionately known as “Ma” by many, passed away peacefully, Sept 15, 2019, at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her family.

Carole was born Aug 26, 1945, in Worcester Mass, to Charles and Rachel (Stament) Strapakas and grew up in Turners Falls Mass. Carole moved to and made her home in CT many years ago. Carole’s job in life is was to be a mother, which she fulfilled to many. She leaves behind her daughter Coleen Golden and Ed Golden of Enfield, CT, her son Craig Smith and Karen Baker of Greenfield, Mass, her son Michael Kulesa and daughter-in-law Nicolle Kulesa of Windsor Locks, CT; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Carole was predeceased by her husband Ronald Kulesa, her long time companion Edward “Boo Boo” Paseka, and her 3 sisters Charlene, Gail, and Lynn.

Carole enjoyed many things in life, but nothing more then time spent with family. Some of her favorite days were spent relaxing on the beach. She was an easygoing person, your smile made her smile, your happiness made her happy.

Carole was a fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Boston Redsox. She thoroughly enjoyed the argument of sports in New England. Carole was a longtime member of the Italian American Club and the Polish American Club in Windsor Locks, where she met many lifelong friends. In 2005 she joined the APA pool league, and 20 years later, celebrated her 70th Birthday playing for the national championship in Las Vegas. Carole was very talented at crocheting, and loved to make afghans for her family and friends. Holidays were her favorite, and she was always more excited for the gifts she gave then for those she received , a true testament to the woman she was.

Visiting hours will be held, Tuesday Sept 24, 2019 from 4-7 pm with a Celebration of Life concluding the visitation at 7 pm. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home 441 Spring Street , Windsor Locks, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
