Edwina E. (Lucas) Smith, 74, died Monday, August 22, 2011, at Rockville General Hospital, after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded by her husband William. A. Smith. Edwina was born in Manchester CT on January 5, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Grace Mae (Hildabrant) Lucas. Edwina worked for the Hartford Courant and also as a private Nurses Aide for the elderly. She had many hobbies and interests including, gardening, knitting/crafts, sewing but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Edwina is survived by her four children, Roger Smith and his wife Holly of Broad Brook CT, Cheryl Camp of Centennial, CO, Holly Anderson and her husband, Curtis of Saratoga, CA and Kathleen Stadnicki of East Hartford, CT, a brother Theodore Lucas and his wife, Casilda of Mystic CT, Daniel Lucas of Rockville, CT, a sister Colleen LaRoche of Enfield CT; Six grandchildren, William Smith, Heidi and Haley Anderson, Richard, Ryan and Robert Camp of CO. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Saturday, August 27, 2011, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am with a funeral service at 11:30 am at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT 06096. Burial will follow in Wapping Cemetery in South Windsor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Edwina can me made to the Susan G.
