James R. Keegan, 89, of Shrewsbury, MA, formerly of Enfield, beloved husband of Marilyn (Labbe) Keegan, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at The Residence at Orchard Grove in Shrewsbury, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Van Buren, ME on February 27, 1930, he grew up in Maine before moving to Enfield for 20 years. He worked for Pratt & Whitney as an Engineer for 35 years, retiring from their West Palm Beach location in 1991. After 35 years in Florida, he and his wife moved to Shrewsbury to be closer to family in 2018. James was a proud US Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. A loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, dedicated veteran, and friend to many, James will be missed by his family and friends. Besides his beloved wife of 61 years, Marilyn, he leaves 3 devoted children, Sue Storer and her husband Michael of Shrewsbury, Capt. Daniel J. Keegan of Phoenix, AZ, and Erin Percoski of Worcester; 3 cherished grandchildren, Patrick and Justin Storer, and Samantha Laitinen; 2 siblings, Ward Keegan and his wife Noella of Enfield, and Norma Curtis and her husband Lloyd of New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Lance Cpl. Patrick J. Keegan in 1990. His family will receive friends on Sunday, September 29 from 4-6 PM at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. His Funeral will begin on Monday, September 30 with a Procession gathering at the funeral home at 9 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial taking place at 10 AM at Holy Family Church, Enfield. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery.
