Dear Monique, Danielle and Pierre,

I am so saddened to learn of your Mom's passing. My memories of her are rich in many ways. She was a strong woman who ran a tight ship, but had a laugh that could ring bells all the way to my house! I was petrified of her when I was little, but loved her anyway.
When I got older I admired her strong will and tenacity in life. She was a wonderful friend to my mother for many, many years, a friendship my mom cherished. I can picture her at our back door, calling in, "Toni? Toni, helloooo!" Hustle bustle would ensure, and my mom would be at that door in a flash with a big smile ushering her on in. They were a good example of how when you buy a house, if you are lucky, you are buying lifelong cherished friends. When I got married, I could not afford a new gown, so borrowed one from a relative (who had married in 1955) that arrived stuffed in a black garbage bag just two months before the wedding. I had been assured it was in mint condition... My mom and I just cried when we saw it. Within 2 days it was in Marie's hands and she lovingly and patiently repaired every tiny tear, rebeaded the lace and made it look new. She would not accept a cent for it and I can't look at my wedding pictures without thinking of her. It was truly precious to us and I will never forget it or her. I wish her peace and rest and God's arms. I wish you peace and comfort in each other with lots of hugs and healing together. Life is too short and precious for anything less.
With love and sympathy,
Sandra Kweder

Please do not send flowers! It is the family’s wishes that in lieu of flowers (though not necessary) a donation be made to Apple Rehab in Middletown.
I am offended by the flowers post as they are behaving like ambulance chasers taking advantage of people in their time of sorrow.

So very sorry to learn precious Marie had passed. I was blessed to have met her when I came to work at Apple Rehab in Recreation. She was so helpful during activities and appreciated all her friends here. Marie was our Resident Council President and always volunteered to help us in any way she could. I will miss her bright smile and the kindness she shared with me. I want to let her family know I care and send comfort and prayers during this difficult time. Love, Deb Marino
