Obituary

Junior F. Jacobs, 90, longtime resident of Enfield, entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 19, 1929, the loving son to the late Raymond and Gwendolyn (Lay) Jacobs. Junior proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his time in the service, he enjoyed a long career with Hamilton Standard for 39 years before retiring in 1992. Junior enjoyed working around his yard, and watching NASCAR. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, and enjoying his winters in Florida with his beloved wife of 60 years, the late Shirley (Seymour) Jacobs. He leaves his children, Darlene Jacobs of Granby, CT, Deborah Anderson and her husband, Colin of South Carolina, James Jacobs and his wife, Lynne of Enfield, Paul Jacobs of Enfield and Donna Musumeci and her husband, Frank of Enfield; a brother, Jerald Jacobs and his wife, Elaine of Springfield; two sisters, Karen Reed and Clara Jean Jacobs; seven devoted and loving grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Junior was predeceased by six brothers and a sister. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Second Chance Home Care and Athena Hospice for their compassion and care. Junior's family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm and on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 from 9:00 - 10:00 am at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT 06082. A procession will gather at the funeral home at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 to the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery located in Agawam, MA for an 11:00 am service with military honors. Memorial donations in memory of Junior many be made to the local hospice organization of the donor's choice.

At this sorrowful period in your life, please accept my sincerest condolences for the death of your loved one.  Reflecting on the divine promises found in the Bible will give you hope and strength to keep going until all of God's promises are fulfilled. (Romans 15:13; John 5:28, 29).
